NFC is an abbreviation for Near Field Communications. It’s a method for devices to communicate together over short distances (1.5 inches or less). Most modern smart phones are NFC capable. You will commonly see this technology when you use your cell phone, or even a credit/bank card, to “Tap and pay”.
Some products on this site have NFC tags added. Those include:
- The Bible Keychain – includes a message the recipient, a URL link to a Bible verse, and information about this web page.
- The “Puzzle Present” Gift Boxes – include a message explaining how to solve the puzzle, and information about this web page.
An interesting feature an NFC tag is that they can typically be reprogrammed with different information (sometimes, this feature is disabled, I do not currently disable the NFC tags on products sold here). For instance, if you want to give one of the Puzzle Present gift boxes, you can add a personalized message to the recipient. Or if you have one of the Bible Keychains, you can change the included Bible verse, and/or the custom message.
The NFC Tool app is available for both Android phone and iPhones. Search your respective app store for “NFC Tools”. The video below will describe how to use the app.
