Collapsing Swords Instructions

Note these instructions are updated as customers ask questions and we learn more.

  • Weapons – These are not weapons, and cannot be used to play fight. They are replicas, are impressive to look at, and very satisfying to use as a “large fidget toy”, but if they are swung and come in contact with another object, they are likely to break. If that happens, all is not lost. Most of the collapsing swords we sell have replaceable blades. If you’ve broken a blade, you may even be able to replace just the broken segment. Use the Contact Us form to get in touch, and we’llC get back with you.
  •  Collapsing the Blade – though it’s a satisfying feeling to push the bade into the ground to collapse it, or grab the tip and push it in – Please don’t! The blades break if there’s too much pressure applied, and grabbing the end of a long blade causes a lot of leveraged pressure. Instead, begin pushing in the largest sections near the hilt first, and continue until each section is collapsed.
  • Deploying the Blade – Again, though there may be some satisfaction in quickly forcing the blade out, it will be short lived, when you find that the blades are fused together so firmly you may never get them back in the hilt.
Instead, deploy the bade gently. Flip your wrist gently forcing the blade downward, then in the same motion, turn the blade back up. You will soon get the hang of this circular easy motion that gently opens the blade. Ask for a demonstration if needed.
